Organisation

The initiative is run by the Zug Chamber of Commerce, the WERZ Institute for knowledge, energy and natural resources in Zug (based at the University of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland), the Zug Technology Forum and Switzerland Innovation Park Central in close cooperation with the Canton of Zug. The Klima Charta Zug+ is supported by all interested Zug-based companies, business associations, networks and the public sector.

Project management

Dirk Hoffmann (Metall Zug) and Christian Wirz-Töndury (Institut WERZ) lead the initiative in close cooperation with the Zug Chamber of Commerce, the Zug Technology Forum and Switzerland Innovation Park Central.

Advisory board

The project managers are supported by representatives from Zug’s economy, the canton, local authorities and associations. The task of the advisory board is to support the Klima Charta Zug+ at a strategic and operational level and to drive it forward.

Office

The office at the WERZ Institute in Zug takes care of operational tasks.

The WERZ Institute based at the University of Applied Sciences of Eastern Switzerland is Zug’s centre of excellence for energy and resource efficiency. With its interdisciplinary team, it acts as a link between the university’s applied research and development and the economy. For more than 10 years, WERZ has been supporting the sustainability of companies in Zug through knowledge transfer in education, projects and networks.

Canton of Zug

The Canton of Zug, represented in the charter by the Department of Economic Affairs and the Department of Construction, supports the initiative in terms of content and financially. For the canton, the Klima Charta Zug+ plays a key role in Zug’s economy when it comes to achieving the goals defined in the future energy and climate strategy and promoting the area’s attractiveness.

Wer in Zug in einen Bus steigt, soll ab 2035 keine Treibhausgasemissionen mehr verursachen. Das ist das Ziel der Zugerland Verkehrsbetriebe. Mit der Unterstützung durch die Klima Charta Zug+ will das Unternehmen in Sachen Nachhaltigkeit aber sogar noch weiter gehen.
